"Water" The Exhibition

"Water" is an exhibition of photographs by award-winning photographer Lesley Donald from North Queensferry.

Having spent the last 34 years as a professional photographer, mostly of people and personalities she decided to concentrate on the construction of the new Queensferry Crossing as it took shape over the last couple of years.

Living with the Forth Bridge and the Forth Road Bridge on her doorstep it was a natural step forward to record the new crossing which became the inspiration for this exhibition.

The theme of water came to the fore when Lesley started taking photographs in the Western Isles, Orkney and the Inner Hebrides of seascapes and waterfalls.

Having worked as Prince Charles Photographer in Scotland and for various TV programmes she has included some of her pictures of The Prince and his sons in her exhibition, a retrospective of her work over a number of years.

About Lesley Donald

Internationally published, three times winner in,"The British Picture Editor's Awards," winner of major press awards including, "Royal Photographer of The Year 1990". Lesley has an extensive portfolio of Prince Charles and his family working closely with him during the years 1989-96 on private projects and televised documentaries including: " Charles The Private Man, The Public Role", and "The Legend of Lochnagar".

Lesley is a former BBC London staff photographer, publicising many programmes and films made by the organisation. later going on to work with Central TV, Granada, s4C, STV and America's ABC.

In 1989 Lesley returned to Scotland to start her own picture agency, "Lesley Donald Photography", providing news and features for newspapers, television and magazines worldwide. Published titles include : Time, Paris Match, Country Living, Hello, Private Eye, Elle, Vogue. Point de Vue, Victoria Magazine ( New York), Majesty.

In 1994 " Forth Pictures" a partnership with her husband and photographer Ciaran Donnelly was set up and ran for ten years providing video news and features for STV, BBC, SKY TV.

Lesley's current work includes Corporate and Public Relations Photography.

Each image is bespoke, individually printed on archive Fine Art Giclee Paper, signed and titled by Lesley. Each print is accompanied by their own unique story sheet written on location by Lesley.

Size : 70 x 50 cm : with a 5cm white border for signage.
